The Project highlighted here, is an example of how our team at Kentucky Paper Box, was able to help a customer develop a unique solution from an existing design.

The client, a manufacturer of health and beauty products, presented us with the manufacture of a standard two-piece rigid box configuration. As a customer centric manufacturer, our team is always looking for ways to add value to our client’s requests. In this case we were able to take a standard, common box design and transform it into a side loaded slipcase that was more in line with the look of the brand and product. In the health and beauty market, presenting your products with functional and trendy designs is the most effective way affect consumer decision. This project delivered all of these. However, it was not without challenges.

The section that functioned as the drawer was composed of .080 single black stain board. This is a tight wrapped rigid tray, which was die cut wrapped and features a 3/8” deep v-notch on one side. Both the drawer and the side loaded slipcase utilize an 80# coated one side exterior wrap that was printed with a metallic silver flood coat + velvet soft touch, scuff free film lamination. With a production run of 25,000 finished pieces, this was certainly not an easy project but other issues arose that truly made it a challenge.

Because of unforeseen variables, the customer was forced to move up the product launch date. This significantly cut into the lead time allotted. Fortunately, our team and production processes are geared for flexibility; we have close ties up and down our supply chain, and have resources available that can accommodate the most difficult deadlines. In the end we were able to complete the entire project in just 2.5 weeks. When the deadline changed, the client realized that completion was unrealistic but we were able to change their opinion on what is possible when you work with an industry leader.
